Campaign of the Month: August 2014
The Concord of Ashes
Vampires are night predators, and the Embrace has equipped them with certain simple, unnatural advantages with regards to hunting their prey. Quite simply, they see better in the dark. In game terms, they gain +1 die to any Perception rolls pertaining to sight under a night sky, in the half-light of twilight, or even within the murky illumination of a poorly lit dwelling. Indeed, the benefit is enjoyed in anything other than near total darkness (including that of the stygian darkness of the Nocturne power) or total darkness.
This doesn’t quite allow a Cainite to read a book without light (though with the use of Auspex he most certainly can), but it could conceivably allow them to make out the details of a potential victim’s face from 50 feet, or easily discern the quality of someone’s attire.
This benefit is cumulative with the reduction in difficulties provided by the Auspex discipline.
